



meet dr. lehmann
Dr. Lehmann is a board-certified eye surgeon who specializes in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. He is a graduate of Seguin High School and the University of Texas at Austin (Plan II). After finishing medical school in San Antonio, he completed his residency and fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. In 2007, he returned to South Texas to join Focal Point Vision. Over the last 13 years, the Consumers Research Council has consistently named Dr. Lehmann as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists.”
Dr. Lehmann’s practice includes medical and surgical ophthalmology, and he manages both common conditions, like cataracts and rare, complex diseases, like corneal dystrophies and ocular surface injuries. He has an interest in complicated anterior segment surgery and has pioneered the use of the Boston Keratoprosthesis, Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty, Humanoptic's Artificial Iris, and DMEK in San Antonio.
Dr. Lehmann is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Order of St. John, and is an assistant clinical faculty member at the UT Health San Antonio.
In addition to clinical research and scientific presentations at national and international conferences, Dr. Lehmann performs volunteer clinical and surgical duties monthly at the I Care Clinic at the Haven for Hope where he regularly performs cataract and pterygium surgery gratis for indigent patients.

Dr. Lehmann often partners with ORBIS, Sightlife, and the Episcopal Church and travels abroad several times a year to teach and perform surgery. Over the last few years, Dr. Lehmann has traveled to China, Peru, Myanmar, and India to teach doctors new techniques in cataract and corneal surgery. Lastly, he has visited Jerusalem five times in the last decade, carrying corneas to teach and perform corneal transplants.
Dr. Lehmann is married with three children, and he speaks Spanish fluently.
