The most common procedures that we perform at our San Antonio office include cataract surgery, lasik laser eye surgery, and corneal transplants; however, our surgeons do so much more to help restore your vision!

Please see the list below for the additional surgeries that we perform at Focal Point Vision.

Pterygium surgery — A pterygium (pronounced TER-RIDGE-EE-UM) is a growth on the white part of eye due to sun exposure. It is not a cancer, and is very common in South Texas. If you have chronic redness in the middle aspect of your eyes, you may have a pterygium. We can perform an outpatient surgery to remove the growth. Most patients have only mild discomfort after surgery and take a few days off from work.

Glaucoma surgery — Glaucoma is a disease in which the pressure in the eye remains elevated over a long period of time, and damage develops in the optic nerve. Like high blood pressure, patients may not know that they have glaucoma. Fortunately, most patients can be treated successfully with drops, but some patients have glaucoma that requires surgery. Sometimes we can treat glaucoma with a laser procedure, but in other cases, it involves surgery with the ExPRESS shunt, iStent, or Kahook blade.

Eyelid surgery — Many patients have droopy eyelids that affect their side vision and cause headaches. We can remove the excess skin as outpatient surgery. Additionally, we routinely perform eyelid surgeries to remove cysts, growths, and other lesions, and we have years of experience with Botox for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes.
