Dr. James D. Lehmann
Dr. Lehmann is a board-certified eye surgeon who specializes in cataract, corneal and refractive surgery. He is a graduate of Seguin High School and the University of Texas at Austin (Plan II). After completing his residency and fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2007, he returned to South Texas to join Focal Point Vision. Over the last six years, the Consumers Research Council has named Dr. Lehmann as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists.”
Dr. Lehmann’s practice includes medical and surgical ophthalmology, and he manages both common conditions, like cataracts, and rare, complex diseases like corneal dystrophies and ocular surface injuries. He has an interest in complicated anterior segment surgery and has pioneered the use of the Boston Keratoprosthesis, Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty, and DMEK in San Antonio.
Dr. Lehmann is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Order of St. John, and is an assistant clinical faculty member at the UT Health Science Center.
