
Dr. Snip has more than 30 years of experience in corneal eye surgery. After graduating from Harvard University with honors, he went on to receive his MD from the world-renowned John Hopkins School of Medicine. He performed his medical internship at Vanderbilt University Hospital, and his residency in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute of John Hopkins Hospital. He was a clinical Fellow in ophthalmology in the corneal department at Harvard Medical School, and returned to The Wilmer Eye Institute as Assistant Chief of Service. The Wilmer Institute remains the top eye institute and training center in the world.
He is a gifted writer and presenter, whose papers on the cornea are well received by other medical colleagues. Dr. Snip's articles on his studies of the cornea have appeared in nationally-renowned ophthalmologic publications.
He has performed research at Harvard University, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Eye Research Institute of the Retina Foundation.
In addition, he is a clinical professor and teacher at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and has been a consultant to the U.S. Air Force Wilford Hall Medical Center, and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He is currently the Medical Director of the San Antonio Eye Bank.
He is Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is one of the founders of Focal Point Vision Correction. He specializes in LASIK, laser PRK, AK, Cataracts, Corneal Implants, Glaucoma and Anterior Eye Surgery.
